Messi, Face Behind Adiddas New "Boot with a Brain"

Barcelona and Argentina’s Lionel Messi is the face behind football’s latest revolutionary masterpiece officially known as  adizero f50 but with sobriquet “the boot with a brain.”
The boot which as a miCoach SPEED_CELL located in its sole can capture 360-degree movement and metrics such as speed, average speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels and active time for up to seven hours after a match or training – transmit on-pitch information to tablets, PCs and Macs using a wireless link.
Statistics can be shared on Facebook and amateur footballers can compare their performance to professionals such as the current captain of the Argentina national team, Leo Messi, via the miCoach Website. The company even has plans to release an online miCoach videogame in 2012 that will let players use their own real-life abilities in the game.

Leading Premier League players, including Luis Suarez, David Silva, Samir Nasri , Ashley Young, Emmanuel Adebayor, Stewart Downing and Gareth Bale, have put the smart boot to the test during training sessions in recent weeks before wearing them competitively for the first time next month.
The adizero f50 will be available worldwide from adidas in November for EUR210 (approx. US$277), while a bundle including the boots, a Speed Cell, a dongle to connect to an iPod or iPhone and the miCoach CONNECT for PC and Mac will sell for EUR245 (approx. US$324).
