Conarad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal physician whom prosecutors accuse of giving a lethal dose of the sedative propofol to the musical icon who died on the night of June 2009 will go on trial today.
Dr Murray, 58, if convicted of the charges could face four years in jail and the loss of his medical licence.
The proceedings will be televised and broadcasted online.
Hundreds of Jackson fans gathered outside court on Tuesday for the start of the trial, which will begin with opening statements from defence and prosecution.
