80 Year Old Man dies on pensioners verification queue in Ondo

An 80-year-old man, Olusa Ayodele was undergoing malaria treatment before coming to the screening venue on Monday, slumped and died while waiting for his turn to be screened in the ongoing federal government pensioners’ verification exercise in Ondo State.

The deceased who retired from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in 1984 was brought to the screening venue in Akure from Akunnu-Akoko by his 30-year-old son, Deji
Upon their arrival, his health became unstable and he started vomiting. Deji alerted the officials conducting the exercise about his father’s health but was ignored.

Similar incident occurred Last year, when two pensioners slumped while waiting for their turns; one died instantly while the other was revived in the hospital.

For how long will this continue?

This incidents will continue if they are not provided with conducive environments. Most of these people are old and can't be exposed to such
